WORK EXPERIENCE
My Career
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION CENTRE, BVI
May 2016 - December 2022
- Led the creation, construction, funding and operational development of the BVI International Arbitration Centre, the first arbitration institution in the Caribbean. Working closely with the Board of directors to shape the business strategy.
- Management and oversight of all functional areas including marketing and business development, finance, technology, and human resources.
- Developed key relationships with various stakeholders including Board members, the Financial Services regulator, the Judiciary and Government (as Head of a Statutory Body), accountants & auditors, technology partners, etc.
- Responsible for the Information Risk and Security function of the institution, implementing robust Business Continuity processes to enable the institution to effectively respond and handle threats and major incidents, including the BVI disasters of 2017 and the Covid19 pandemic.
- Representing the centre at various public events and conferences, public speaking, creating awareness and momentum among the legal community both on the territory and internationally.
DIVISIONAL PRACTICE MANAGER, DENTONS, UK
2014 - 2016
- Leading change to professionalise the firm by creating a business management function.
- Supporting the Executive Committee and the Board on strategic planning and execution.
- Operational management of two divisions: (i) Energy, Transport & Infrastructure, Real Estate and Planning and (ii) Dispute Resolution (incl. International Arbitration, Insolvency, Financial Markets and Commercial Disputes).
- Providing front line advisory and support to divisional leads and other partners in order to encourage operational excellence.

2012 - 2014
- Responsible for the overall operational, financial and budgetary management of the (i) global Real Estate and (ii) Technology Media Telecoms and Intellectual Property departments.
- Providing front line advisory and support to global practice heads and other partners in order to ensure strategy, plans and structures are efficient, implemented effectively and consistent with firmwide strategy.
- Co-ordination and management of practice groups' operational functions, including Finance, HR, Marketing, Business Development, Knowledge & Learning, IT, Risk and Contingency Planning.
- Member of Linklaters’ Global Faculty. Facilitation of several courses including influencing skills, strategy, and business strategy.

- Managing a 50 strong Private Equity and M&A research team in London with 17 nationalities covering all European countries.

- Programme management of multiple time sensitive projects. Responsible for defining and agreeing the scope of projects, prioritizing and turning them into results-oriented research projects, following through until completion.
